Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says Dr. David Brizer (BREYE’-zuhr) also under-reported his income by at least $500,000 on his state tax returns.

The 60-year-old Brizer has pleaded not guilty in Rockland County Court to charges of tax fraud, criminal sale and possession of prescription drugs and other fraud and conspiracy counts.

He remains free on bail. He could face up to seven years in prison.

Brizer’s lawyer, Michael Bachner, declined immediate comment.

The indictment says the doctor sold prescriptions for oxycodone and other painkillers for up to $300 each from February 2010 to August 2012.

Medicaid investigators searched his offices in August.

Brizer graduated Yeshiva University Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1979.

“Brizer graduated Yeshiva University Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1979”
Had he been a UTA graduate I would have little hope for him, but being a YU and other college graduate, I doubt the 103 rule will apply to him

    Prominent?

I’ve never heard of him. How many others here have heard of him? Is he rally prominent? Or does that just make for good headlines? Like call Lipman ultraorthodox.

That’s one. Now, let’s clean up the rest of them. These guys are a bunch of rodfim, essentially drug dealers in white coats or 3 piece suits. This is a small part of the war on drugs, but a necessary part. There are dozens more, working in neighborhoods that are “frum”. They are not just creating addictions with their unethical practices, but they become glorified dealers who get “paid” to fictionalize diagnoses, write perfect lies in medical records, and get rich at the expense of addicts who have lost control.

For those who have not woken up yet, there are plenty of addiction problems in the frum community. Addicts need help, though many don’t realize it until crossing the threshhold of criminal behavior. We need programs to treat them. The dealers need their own program. It’s called prison.

The problem for the government wasn’t so much that he was selling drugs it was that he under-reported his income by $500,000. They didn’t get their cut!

In addition to this individual allegedly selling prescription drugs to drug dealers (which is bad enough), the charge against him of unreporting $500,000 in income, really burns me up. There are many of us, who struggle, and worry about preparing accurate, and honest federal income tax returns. Therefore, I have nothing but contempt for not only this individual, but others like him such as Wesley Snipes, Richard Hatch, and Jerry Kusman, who feel that it is their right to defraud the government, by either not filing income tax returns, or by filing fraudulent tax returns.
