Jerusalem – Secular youths in Jerusalem celebrated the opening of an entertainment complex Tuesday built on the ruins of a 19th century train station in Jerusalem near the German Complex, Army Radio reported.

The complex, which was to be open on Saturdays, raised ire with haredi residents of the city who strictly observe the Sabbath.
“This desecrated the city and this desecrates the Sabbath, and therefore we will do everything possible so that this won’t happen,” said Israel Kellerman, a member of the Jerusalem City Council.
The complex was opened ahead of Jerusalem city elections to be held in October, during which secular-haredi relations were expected to be a key issue.

I’m really disappointed by this development. There will be no detente between chareidim and seculars as long as each side continues to provoke the other.
Claim a Biblical right to Jerusalem as your Holy City and then use that right to desecrate the Sabbath.

Youth require accessories. This never will go over for the charedi but the secular have rights. Israel is a growing society. You can not legislate religion unless you want to become a caliphate.
The Charedi themselves need to unite and take over the city council and mayorship …
Dont hock a chinik. The torah does require one to rebuke another when one is desicrating any mitzva. No body in Isreal is a tinok shenishba. The secular comm. has had pleanty of time to know and learn about torah and mitzvois.
