One of the new units will be called Netzah Yehuda, while no specifics have been given for the second unit mentioned in the report.

Despite the recent incidences of threats and harassment of haredi soldiers, there are now 3,500 Orthodox soldiers serving in the IDF, and plans to have 10,000 within the next five years.

A survey released by the IDF on Wednesday said that 85% of haredi soldiers are proud to serve in the IDF.

Science and Technology Minister and chairman of the Peri Commitee which focuses on equalizing Israel’s enlistment burden, Yaakov Perry (Yesh Atid) , was pleased with the results of the survey.

“I am extremely satisfied with the size of the last group of yeshiva students that enlisted into the Nahal Haredi unit,” said Perry, “More than 70% of yeshiva students want to contribute, enlist and bear the burden.”

” there are now 3,500 Orthodox soldiers serving in the IDF” – that is false. There are many more thousands of “orthodox” soldiers that serve in the army. The label “Orthodox” does not only apply to Mea Sharim, Geulah and Bnei Brak.

Why are you so sure that serving in the IDF will cause people to let go of their Frumkite? Shabbos, beards, davinnig and Kashrus not problems. The army has set up all male units for them.
Is their foundation of Torah so weak ? Or is the only thing they are taught is how to get entitlements and to be machmer on the more entitlements the better.

FYI – there are many many fabulous Chareidi soldiers WITH BEARDS in Tzahal. Don’t believe the propaganda. One of them is my nephew and they are the best of the best. Hardworking, brave, selfless and honorable. Halevie all of the youth in the country should be like them.

Once again, the “chareidi” recruits, or future “chareidi” recruits, mentioned in this article are not chareidi. (Well, maybe they are chareidi in the same sense as those men and women swimming together in that memorial pool, dressed in swim suits in a mixed company, are chareidi.) Once again, zionists will call them chareidi to make their own propaganda points, but all they are, at best, are modern pretend-orthodox. Loyal Jews will not serve.

They are proving over and over again it has nothing to do with sharing the burden. my brother is american and is dying to join the army and was rejected three times the war is against torah plain and simple they can not stand chareidim and will do whatever it takes to ruin they’re success…To all the well wishers to the tzavah from your comments it is obvious that you have no clue what’s going on and you are simply bias or provocative
May we all merit to see a big yeshuah and that this terrible law will never come through

Once again we read submissions by the Neanderthals masquerading under the guise of “alter” or Rebbee or whatever making them sound as if they are God fearing. Nothing more than simpletons who have difficulty breathing and walking. In truth Im not sure why these soldiers would want to be identified as chareiidm. Judging from the opinions I read here, who would want that badge.
