It’s a question angry voters, pundits and fellow politicians have been asking almost nonstop in the nearly two weeks since the New York City mayoral candidate’s latest sexting bombshell, which has sent his once-leading poll numbers plummeting.
Weiner insists he’s staying in the race no matter what. And experts say that beyond the former congressman’s well-known combativeness, his stance may just be rooted in political calculation.
A leading theory: Weiner takes his hits on the campaign trail, gives the media a chance to ask every sexting question and essentially punch themselves out on the issue. And even if he loses, he emerges with his political career refreshed to run for higher office again.
The Democratic primary is being held Sept. 10.
Mayor or not, here he comes.
He is obviously delusional. He doesn’t believe that his tawdry record of sexual misconduct will influence the voters to vote against him. No doubt, Bill Clinton is probably one of his role models.
the real answer to this question is that he’s sitting on a small fortune of campaign money which according to campaign rules he’ll lose if he doesn’t run.

I bump into friends every day who tell me they are voting for weiner. I think he is aware that he has a chance as many new yorkers forgive peoples mistakes. He also got some good rebbes backing unlike Quinn.

If I lived in NYC, I’d vote for him. Worse than Bloomberg is hard to imagine with his meddling into every aspect of our lives, wanting to control everything, he is antagonistic to the frum community, etc. Weiner has a mental issue but is not incompetent and would do a good job. More of a concern is Elliot Spitzer handling money. He is not a wise person with money, spending $4000 a pop on hookers, he is a very sick man and a hypocrite. Spitzer is far worse than Weiner who is basically a nice guy with a mental illness but could run the city no doubt in my mind.
Because he has a support of the Jewish Community!!!
He is also a protege of Senator Shumer.
Ego and arrogance, plus promise the Jewish community and they’ll sell their souls and vote for you, like they did for Hillary.
