YNETnews.com (http://bit.ly/15z12rG) reports that the suspect, whose name is being withheld under a court order, was ordered remanded for an additional two days until his next hearing.

According to court documents, after being discharged from the IDF for psychological issues, the suspect then claims to have become a member of the ultra-Orthodox Neturei Sect, during which time he allegedly applied for a Libyan passport at one of its embassies.

The indictment revealed that the suspect contacted Iranian officials and subsequently flew to Berlin in January of 2011 where he set out to meet with Iranian representatives.

The suspect tried to access Iranian officials on January 17th, but was unsuccessful due to the embassy being closed that day.

The following day the man returned, meeting with three Iranian officials—one of whom identified himself as Haji Baba.

According to documents, it was at this meeting that the suspect told the Iranians that he denied the existence of the State of Israel, and while offering his services to spy on Israelis, said that he was not interested in seeking asylum, and that he was willing to kill a Zionist.

He was provided with a contact phone number and email by the Iranians where he was told he would “find a message,” but after returning to Israel he was unsuccessful in initiating further contact with Haji Baba.

The suspect is charged with contacting a foreign agent and attempting to commit treason.

At the hearing, prosecutors said they have a detailed confession from the suspect, but his attorney argued that the confession is inadmissible since it was obtained without counsel being present.

Attorney Yair Nehorai has petitioned the court that his client be allowed to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.

The man is due back in court on Wednesday.

Haji Baba gave this guy up to mosad before he left the embassy.
Nobody trusts a traitor. So the iranians got rid of him the easy way, let Israel deal with it.
NK guy had no idea what or who he was dealing with.

From this article it sounds like he became “frum” after discharge. So he’s an “ultra-Orthodox former IDF soldier”, not a “former ultra-Orthodox IDF soldier.”

Until now the news was a Neturei Karta member.

Now it came out that he had prior psychological issues.

The Iranians realized right away that he won’t do any good for them, so they got rid of him, but the Isreal government will prosecute a Meshugener.

    Now it makes sense.

“According to court documents, after being discharged from the IDF for psychological issues, the suspect then claims to have become a member of the ultra-Orthodox Neturei Sect”

Where are all the haters now?

I bet even NK is ashamed of him & won’t lift a finger to help him.

I used the wrong word, NK isn’t ashamed of him they are embarrassed by him. Hard to believe, but he may make them look relatively normal.

Since he does not recognize the State and wants to kill Zionists, he should be placed in a prison with the Arab terrorists who share the same view.

Anyone attempting to walk down marble stairs with his eyes covered and not holding on due to being handcuffed, has got to be nuts!
    Or is that a veil?

Um, isn’t the sentence “Neturie Karta and psychological problems” rather superfluous? And really, Rebbe123, in all seriousness, you need help. I encourage you to seek therapy. You scare us.

Ironically, you won’t find many Arabs who would volunteer to spy for Iran since they hate Shia more than Israelis. This guy is another result of fine Torah education funded by Zionist tax payer.
