Jerusalem – Controversy erupted on Tuesday when a staffer from Israel’s Irish Embassy tweeted a link to a 2011 speech accompanied by a quote from the speech charging that Adolph Hitler would be proud of the United Nation’s actions towards Israel.

The TIMES OF ISRAEL (http://bit.ly/1b91YTr) reports that the tweet was quickly removed after the Foreign Ministry was flooded with complaints.

The original tweet, “It’s from 2011: The #UN has itself become a tool against #Israel. Hitler couldn’t have been made happier,” was followed by a link containing the text of a 2011 speech made by human rights activist Simon Deng in New York condemning the Durban II conference, a UN-sponsored event that was boycotted by both the U.S. and Israel due to the anti-Israel sentiment that arose from the original Durban conference in 2001.

In the transcript of his speech protesting the Durban II conference, Deng, a Sudanese refugee, said, the conference, “will only isolate and target the Jewish state. It is a tool of the enemies of Israel. The UN has itself become a tool against Israel. For over 50 years, 82 percent of the UN General Assembly emergency meetings have been about condemning one state—Israel. Hitler couldn’t have been made happier.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman, Yigal Palmor, said, “The controversial quote was taken from the words of a Sudanese refugee, as is clearly seen in the article linked in the tweet. It should not be attributed to the embassy, but in the face of the growing misunderstanding it was decided to remove the tweet.”

It might be painful, but its still the truth. If the UN has an issue with it, let them change their attitude towards Israel.

It is without a doubt the UN is antisemitic.Usual, countries and politicians who are against Israel are antisemite’s.

At the same time it most be noted that the founding fathers of Israel didn’t have in mind to help Jews so they be able to practice the Jewish religion without persecution. Their goal was and still is to make Jews secular as the Goyim are.As the Brisker Rav said about the establishment of the Medinah: “It is not that they want a Medinah therefore they have to uproot the Torah – their desire is to uproot the Torah, the purpose of the Medinah is to help them do it.”
And of course we all know what the Chofetz Chaim said “the Zionists are descendents of Amalek.
Hope VIN will post my comment.

It’s not just us Jews that see through the UN and know its true colors, it’s also other normal people, including a Sudanese refugee!

The UN is Hitler’s Final Solution…..so what’s wrong with speaking the truth?

    No surprise here.
Lies, halftruths, and outright antisemitism, are the prevailing currency in that evil chamber of darkness. What is notable in this story is that the original comment was made by a Sudanese refugee, someone that experienced hatred, and genocide firsthand, unlike the liberal armchair pundits that pontificate and lecture the rest of us from their tony suburban residences

    For argument sake,
zionists today arent the same what they used to be. Today the zionists are frum, the mitnachalim, they like israel and have mesiras nefesh to protect yidden and would not bash the chareidi.
The not frum leftists don’t want the medina, they want to give it all back to the arabs, so really we should be on the same page. Since we already have the medina we gotta protect the yidden and make it into a gov’t that runs al pi taharas hakodesh as much as possible.
