CBSLOSANGELES (http://cbsloc.al/19KC2iT) reports that an image featuring barbed-wired fences, lights, and a guard tower was originally posted on Econ One’s website accompanied by the slogan “Great work is the only kind that’s okay with us.”
The image has since been removed, and an apology has been posted by Econ One, reps both on its website and Facebook page.
The apology reads, “Econ One was unaware that the image used in its ad to depict the movie, The Great Escape, was an image of Birkenau. We immediately removed all images once this fact was brought to our attention. We sincerely apologize to anyone we offended by our use of the image.”
Thanks to VINs post, I sent the CEO an email about the photo. Glad they took it down. All VIN posters need to send emails to those who need a zetz to straighten them out.
how is it that people are always saying and using things and then apologizing later after [which I think is after their message is out] is there something behind it?
Okay, how doesn’t one know this is a pic of a concentration camp?! Obviously this isn’t “great work” & who are they saying did good work in this pic?
i dont get the connection between “The great escape” movie and the company
what was the relevance of the movie to their ad?
Poor advertizing if we don’t understand it, even if it was explained. Fire the guy/girl who designed it, not for using the image (which is abhorrent) but because it’s a lousy ad!
