New Delhi, India – Nine short months after a Hamas rocket attack took the life of his wife, while injuring him and his family, Rabbi Shmuel Scharf is returning to his position as director of New Delhi’s Chabad House.

ISRAEL HAYOM (http://bit.ly/17zqKYI) reports that Scharf, who is returning to New Delhi’s Chabad House against the recommendations of his psychologist who believes his return is premature, said he has just recently returned from an advance trip to India where he made preparations for his children’s arrival, while laying the groundwork for a memorial that he plans to dedicate to his wife, Mira.
Scharf said plans for his “Beit Mira” memorial will serve “proof of the Jewish people’s endurance.”
“The more we get hit, the more we spread the light,” said Scharf.
Reflecting on having found a plot for his memorial and the coming days leading up to the Jewish High Holy Days, Scharf said, “Our decision to resume our Chabad mission is not just about continuing our activities. We want to bolster them and expand them. The Lubavitcher Rebbe has dispatched us and has instructed us to spread the message of redemption all over the world, and that is why you need to learn how to set aside your personal loss and pain and plough through.”
