New York, NY – New York City mayoral hopeful Bill Thompson is calling for police who perform stop-and-frisk operations to issue a report to people they question.

Thompson, a Democrat, wants police to write why the person was stopped. This could include having a gun-like bulge in a pocket or leaving a known crime location.
He believes this will make police “more accountable.” He also suggests this will help police track why people are being stopped.
Thompson is unveiling his plan a week after a judge ordered a federal monitor to oversee stop-and-frisk. Critics believe the practice unfairly targets minorities.
Defenders of the Police Department’s stop-and-frisk policy believe it helps lower crime rates. The practice has become a flashpoint in the mayor’s race.
Thompson is such a disappointmet! I attended meetings for him and was ready to vote for him. He has proven he is another lacky for the likes of Sharpton et al. How sad. We must support John Lhotta who has bagage as well but is the only serious person in the whole lot.
