The operation took place in the cardiology department, after which he returned to the intensive care unit in the internal medicine department where he has been treated for the last few days.
The spiritual leader of Shas, 93, remains in serious but stable condition.
News of his health will not be released during the Simhat Torah holiday, the hospital said, at the request of the family.
