New York, NY – The lawyer for the 34 plaintiffs in the $380M sexual abuse lawsuit against Yeshiva University has reported that two additional former students have come forward to share their tales of abuse at YU’s all-boys high school—with one victim reporting that the abuse took place nearly six decades ago.

The NEW YORK POST (http://bit.ly/15IciOj) reports that the plaintiffs’ attorney, Kevin Mulhearn, submitted papers Monday in Manhattan federal court stating that he has had phone discussions with the two new victims regarding their claims, but that they have yet to officially join the case.
According to sources, one new victim alleges that Rabbi Macy Gordon—who is charged in the original suit with having sodomized a boy with a toothbrush in a 1980 dorm room attack—sexually assaulted him in his dorm room in 1955.
The additional new victim charges that school staffer George Finkelstein, who is also named in the original suit, routinely used his school master keys during the 1980s to gain access to boys dorm rooms to molest.
Court papers file by Mulhearn state that both new victims, like many before them, complained to school officials at the time only to see their complaints repeatedly ignored.
The first new victim said he reported Rabbi Gordon to then-YU administrator Norman Abrams, who rebuffed his claims and called him a “troublemaker.”
The second victim claims he went straight to recently retired YU president Norman Lamm about Finkelstein.
“Dr. Lamm responded to this direct accusation with a shrug and walked away,” court papers state.
The case with Rabbi Macy Gordon is from 1955! They want to hold YU accountable for something that took place nearly 60 years ago? That means the plaintiff is in his 70s. Is this absurd?

why does vin keep repeating the same horroble stories about frum people over and over again. i beleive in awareness but it basically allows for a huge amount of loshon hora as well
most people have kept the suffering internal and finally have come out about it. It is a shame that at the time it was hushed up but in those years this type of thing was rare and who would believe one boy against a ‘distinguished’ rabbi?
Today things are different and these people who suffered great emotional damage are asking for retribution from YU. I am sad to hear YU in such a jam since I have always held it in high respect.
