The Times of Israel (http://bit.ly/1c129hC) reports that since Netanyahu and the Transportation Ministry seem reluctant to challenge the Turks on their rejection to accommodate Israel’s special security requirements for their airlines, in turn preventing Israeli airlines from landing in Turkey, El Al has now turned to Avigdor Liberman, Israel’s foreign minister.
Air traffic between the two countries has grown by over 150 percent since the 2010 Gaza flotilla incident, however, Turkey is benefiting greatly from the increase, not Israel. Ben Gurion Airport reports 112 Turkish airline flights each week. Israeli airlines report zero flights on the route.
The Prime Minister’s Office has no comment on the matter.
this is all nonsens the reason why the traffic has grown with the turks they offer 2 bags to any passengers along with great fares & top notch service which ELAL does not offer any of the above
