Police Commissioner William J. Bratton said at a press conference Wednesday that one purchase of 25 weapons during the seven-month investigation was the single largest illegal gun buy in NYPD history.

Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth P. Thompson said the 558-count indictment against Michael Brewer Quick, his wife, two uncles and two others includes charges they sold more than $126,000 worth of firearms.

Authorities say the 32-year-old LaGrange, Georgia, man sold 151 handguns, an AR-15 assault rifle, and TEC-9 and MAC-11 automatic weapons. They say a $200 handgun bought in Georgia could be resold for $1,000 in Brooklyn.

Quick’s attorney didn’t immediately return messages.
