The Times of Israel (http://bit.ly/1hT8cMq) reports The Egged transit company, its ad agency Canaan and the state signed an agreement Wednesday that will allow ads containing pictures of women to be placed on their busses, after a petition was filed almost two years ago.
The Yerushalmim (Jerusalemites) activist group filed the petition in August 2012 requesting women not be barred from the bus ads. Egged did not previously include pictures of women on their busses in an effort not to offend the ultra-Orthodox passengers.
Part of the deal includes compensation provided by the state should vandalism occur.
