Police told VIN News that Levi Nemon fell out of the 6th floor window at 580 Crown Street, landing on a balcony three floors below at 11:30 AM this morning.

Both police and Hatzolah responded to the scene. Hatzolah transported Levi to Kings County Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The NY post reports, that The Nemon apartment does not have metal safety bars on the windows – a violation of the city’s health code which requires buildings with more than three apartments to adhere window guards to all windows in apartments with children under 10 living there.

“Police could not confirm whether or not there were safety bars on the windows as required by law.”

These are condos – not rental units.

Are safety bars required on condos?

Refuah shlimah, god forbid what his parents are awaiting from the social services.

Forget about whether safety bars are required or not. When you have young children in the home open your windows from the top. I never open my windows from the bottom! This is just common sense!

How does one install a window guard on this type of window? . Most window guards for children are three bars. Other window guards that cover a whole window are a danger if there is a fire. May Chaim Yisroel Levi Yitzchok halevi ben Sarah Rivkah have a refuah shlaima.

#11 not a time to make jokes. Common sense would tell you to put bars on windows besides having to have bars by law.
