New York, NY – New York’s 50th Israel Day Parade up Fifth Avenue featured 35,000 boisterous marchers, but was punctuated by some Jewish spectators protesting same-sex marriage and even the existence of Israel.

The annual parade on Sunday honoring Israel also included a model of an Israel spacecraft.
Joining the feast of floats, music and dancing were New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Israeli diplomats and members of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament.

Beautiful
Some sightings:
Curtis Sliwa, George Clooney (?), Bill DeBlasio, Leticia James, Dov Lipman, Chabadskers, Tefilin, Geoffrey the Giraffe, Ernie Anastos, The NYPD, Scott (-no strings attached-) Strenger
All in all a good showing!
Neturei Karta = Erev Rav
Nebech.
A Jewish state without Torah has no right to exist.
I was looking for women dressed modestly. Didn’t find.
Toevah, I do see advertised.
Really got a good laugh at those idiots with the giraffes
Am Yisrael Chai. What a beautiful turnout with beautiful Jews.
I’m not defending the “giraffee” signs being held up, but keep in mind that it is difficult to find tall men in today’s shidduch scene. To some women, height is a priority, but it is naive to think that a giraffee will fulfill their needs.
I agree with #4 , as in past years, there would be parade participants dressed in cheerleader type outfits. Also, I’ve always wondered why in EY, there has never been a similar “Salute to the USA” parade, by Israelis?
beautiful parade. great turnout, beautiful weather.
Hashem was smiling at all of the attendees showing support for Israel.
thanks for all the great pictures VIN
Jewish means Torah. Torah means Jewish. Jews are tzniyusdik . Mabey I’m missing something. Zionists don’t have that Halacha ? Or they don’t have Halacha. Perhaps I’m confused. Can someone enlighten me ?
Maybe because we “live the dream” & have no allegiance to a country that makes impossible demands on us for daring to exist?
The pictures are great, thank you VIN! Sorry I missed it, but hey! I LIVE HERE B”H! I get to thank the One Above every day for the zchus to live here. I’m writing this looking out of my office windows over the rolling hills towards Jerusalem from one side & the plains toward Tel Aviv from the other. Absolutely breathtaking! And if I want to daven at our holy sites I just get in my car or hop on a bus.
As for the protesters – they are all clearly insane. The giraffe scene was nauseating. The NK are a waste of air. To the apartheid idiots : go to Saudi Arabia & see the “civil/human rights” there – especially dressed the way you women dress. I wonder how long you’ll last.
Finally – to the millions of happy participants – MAKE ALIYAH! You love Israel, come here & help us make our homeland strong. Plenty of opportunities for young & old. And kedusha is everywhere, even if some of our girls need to step up the dress code. It’s not perfect, but it is home.
signed, a Chareidi woman who did it
What a wonderful example of “kol kevuda bas melech pinima”, never mind the length (or non-existence) of sleeves.
Of course, while Klal Yisrael prepares for Matan Torah in the shloshes yemei hagbalah, the Zionists reinforce their heresy.
Thanks for all the beautiful photos – it is a privilege to live in a place that participates in such a wonderful showing of support for Israel. I”YH – we will all make aliyah – and enjoy the amazing bracha H”KBH has granted us.
Nebech on all the extremists who are so fahbissen that they cannot grasp the miracle.
Hey, #11 , the point which I was trying to make is that Israelis should show some appreciation to the USA, for all of the support, political, economic, military aid over the last sixty six years, which has been given to them. Therefore, since there is an annual Salute to Israel Parade, or Celebrate Israel Parade in NYC, shouldn’t there be a similar Appreciate USA day parade held in Israel, by grateful Israelis? What is wrong with that concept?
I am appalled that in one picture of the motorcyclists is a young girl as a passenger who is wearing a “fritz” helmet. It is directly associated with Nazi Germany and the symbol of anti-Semitism. I am sure the rider/owner is unfamiliar with the issue, but why would VIN publish such a picture?
I am not advocating censorship but in all likelihood this man made a mistake usig the helmet and is not making a statement.
you cant have a frum government so get it through your heads. if it was, you’d hate it even more.
