Brooklyn, NY – Two Jewish men have been charged with a hate crime following a Saturday night attack in Crown Heights during which they punched a black off duty auxiliary police officer while screaming racial obscenities as he was walking his dog.
NYPOST.com (http://bit.ly/1qylYHp) reports that according to the criminal complaint, 21 year-old Samuel Brendler and 22 year-old Ahrone Koskase attacked 56 year-Dieuphene Hyppolite, pelting him with garbage cans while repeatedly punching him about the face and body, all the while peppering him with racial slurs.
Hyppolite, who works as auxiliary cop out of the 71st precinct, said the pair appeared to be drunk.
Brendler and Koskase were held on $5,000 bail following their arraignment on the felony charge of assault as a hate crime.
