The Forward (http://bit.ly/1tF1tIu) article discusses the exclusively Hasidic area in the upstate Town of Ramapo, where Twersky, 74, heads his sect, and the financial dealings, sexual abuse and claims of violence have been reported over the last few years.
Followers of Twersky regard him in the highest level of holiness; he is a revered tzadik, a higher spiritual being with saintly wisdom. But the breaking of silence – particularly that of Laiby Stern, who claims after being rebuffed by Rabbi Twersky after confiding in him that his neighbor had been sexually abusing him, went to authorities and outside the scope of New Square – is starting to show a break in the privacy and solidarity of the sect.

Let’s call a spade a spade. The leftist leaning anti-religious Forward slandered a Tzadik Yesod Olam and his holy community. Not a single word of a positive nature in the article. It’s far from a balanced article. Now really, tracing the ownership of the car the Rebbe is driven in? Just a pure hatchet job.
Sad! History repeating itself klal yisroel was always destroyed from within the gentiles only finished the job. Dont get me wrong I dont give right to abuse etc. But this is a dangerous path these people are taking.
History has proven that a nation to survive must focus on three things. Borders, language and culture. Otherwise, it breaks the foundation of a country and trickles to disruption. It also causes an odd behavior amongst people to people and leads to violence.
The Hassidic community has been documented in the NY TIMES back in 2008 that they are a community with the least rate of violence in the USA, therefore I’d say they must do something right and their fundamentals are strong. Yes, I personally love to watch movies and be free, but they are not closed because their leader wants it to be, but believe that God wants it that way, yet the Rabbi helps them in God’s path.
Many of these commentors are just shooting the messenger. Time to take your heads out of the sand and face reality.
So VIN promotes the Forward, the most left-leaning Jew hating newspaper of all time.
Scary stuff I say. Research shows that kids dont lie about things in this nature and if the matter was not investigated fully then it is very troubling indeed. I dont believe everything I read because everyone has an angle and an agenda which is filled with bias’s. However, when there is smoke there is fire and when you hear certain behaviors and decisions being done again and again it makes you wonder. I mean lets be honest as much as we cry out ” lashon Hara, its a lie, he’s a tzaddik etc etc maybe we are biased in a sense that we are uncomfortable and scared to believe that such a circumstance is possible. It would shake up our entire belief system.
The bottom line is your being naive and not intellectually honest if you believe that the whole story is a bubba Meise.
I received a link to this article earlier, and opened it. I found the writing completely disgusting. Yes, the community in NS has its issues, and they need to be dealt with appropriately. I’m not about defending criminals or perpetrators of anything. But the slant in this article is typical of this anti-Jewish schmatte. I found quite a large number of total misrepresentations and open untruths in this article. But nothing more could be expected from this rag than from the JW, the NYT, or even some neo-nazi publications.

True this is a biased article & doesn’t mention all the chessed that you see in NS. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean these allegations aren’t true. Quite frankly, I believe every one of them. Is the Forward yellow journalism/gutter press? Of course. But it doesn’t mean what they reported isn’t true.
Esther (#15) is right in demanding all these knee-jerk NS supporters start showing compassion and support to victims of molestation. You could start with my student, who told her teacher (in 4th grade) the reason she was sleepy in class was because her father came to her bed every night. Or my daughter’s classmate who was repeatedly abused by her brothers & possibly her father, while Mom was kept drugged up. Or the Chassidishe girl who lies in the street dead drunk because she can’t take the pain she lives with every day from being abused by her brother. Their lives are destroyed. Do you think they can ever have normal relationships or raise healthy children?
You have absolutely no idea how rampant CSA is. I REPORT. And I will continue to do so every time someone comes to me with another tragic account of what they endure from the people they should trust the most.
I would love for some of the people who dismiss this article as lies to explain point by point why they are false, with some details to back them up. Just saying something isn’t true doesn’t make that so!
