Lincoln, RI – New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton says it’s “unfortunate” that protesters won’t hold off on any new demonstrations until after the funerals of two slain officers.

Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were ambushed Saturday by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who later killed himself. He was angry over the failure to indict white police officers accused of killing unarmed black men.
Bratton said while In Rhode Island on Tuesday that his department will deal with any protests professionally and responsibly.
He says there’s no denying it’s a tough time for policing, but they’ll get through it.
Bratton was in Lincoln to pick up his car. He was in Boston when the officers were killed had dropped off his car before flying back to New York City from T.F. Green Airport.
