According to reports in the New York Post, the FDNY has confirmed that Engine Company 222 has moved its firefighters and fire truck out of their Ralph Avenue headquarters. Engine Company 222, founded in 1885, is located next door to the NYPD’s 81st Precinct on Ralph Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvestant. As previously reported on VIN News, the 81st Precinct was one of two precincts that had been allegedly targeted by the Black Guerilla Family gang.

“There are no threats against the fire department,” said FDNY spokesman Jim Long. “It’s just that that precinct and fire house are adjacent to each other. We’re just doing this out of an abundance of caution.”

Long said that the approximately two dozen firefighters who make up Engine Company 222 have relocated to a nearby firehouse and that the decision to move came from the FDNY and was not based on any police recommendations.

“We’re giving the police department the chance to mitigate the issue,” said Long.

Security has been tightened at both precincts named in the threat, with metal barricades and policemen clad in body armor and armed with assault rifles standing guard outside the 81st Precinct.

Let the place burn down! If the animals that live there don’t care, why should anyone else. Better they ruin their own neighborhoods than come to others! This is the definition of allowing the inmates to run the asylum.
