The shooting occurred around 10:30 P.M. near 184th Street and Tiebout Avenue in the Bronx.

The New York Police Department said the officers were responding to a reported robbery in the Bronx when the shooting occurred.

Authorities say the officers were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No suspect had been taken into custody, police said.

Further details were not immediately available.

The shooting comes just weeks after NYPD officers Wenjian Liu, 32, and Rafael Ramos, 40, were ambushed and fatally shot on Dec. 20 by a killer who said he wanted to avenge the deaths of two unarmed black men in encounters with white officers in Ferguson, Missouri, and New York City this summer.

I think a country where the citizens are overly afraid of the police, or the other way around where the police are overly scared of the citizens, is 1 of the indicators that defines that country as a third world country… Thank you De Blazio for turning our city backwards as in David Dinkins times. NYC seems now like it belongs in some third world country, where cops are petrified of the people as you can clearly see in previous VIN article, comparing the amount of arrests and summonses written by NYPD to the beginning of 2014.

Hands Up and it never would have happened. These thugs will never learn as long at they look up to Sharpton as their leader.

In this specific case, those two plainclothes cops made an unwise decision, not to wear bullet resistant vests. It could have mitigated their injuries. They had been previously advised to wear such protection, but were careless in not doing so. Regarding the current tension between the cops and the Mayor, this is nothing new. In the early 1970’s, the NYPD cops went on a strike, although they officially called it a work slowdown. They went to the stations, but refused to go out on patrol. They’ve had this entitlement mentality ever since, and look down on most of the residents (including Yidden), whom they are supposed to serve and protect. In 1971, those uniformed cops who went on strike, were fined two day’s pay, for every day, which they refused to work. I remember that the cops had the same disdain for Mayor John Lindsay, who served from 1966-1973. Until the cops get rid of that chip on their shoulder, and treat all citizens with courtesy and respect, this tension will only continue. The police unions in NYC have become too powerful, and have that give me, give me, give me, mentality. A point of diminishing returns will be reached, when the well dries up. Case closed!

I think Cuomo should impose a “Control Board” like Hugh Carey did in 1975 to oversee City Hall and the boob currently in charge of it.
