Authorities are preparing for inclement weather less than 24 hours before heavy precipitation begins to accumulate.

In an effort to avert a repeat of City Hall’s disastrous handling of last year’s winter storm Alexa – which stranded thousands of drivers and nearly shut down the capital for a week – police announced on Monday that major roadways leading to Jerusalem may be preemptively closed in anticipation of this week’s expected blizzard.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the entrances to routes 1 and 443 would be blocked ahead of Wednesday’s forecasted snowfall if it endangers road safety.

“If necessary, the highways will be closed depending on decisions that will be made according to the seriousness of conditions in the next 48 hours,” Rosenfeld said on Monday.

“In general, preparations have been made by the Israel Police for the difficult winter conditions expected to hit Israel.

Extra emergency response units and 4X4s are on standby in Jerusalem to assist stranded vehicles on the highways.”

No wonder Israel suffers from such bad government if the Prime Minister has enough free time to waste taking part in photo ops during a routine meeting to discuss preparations for a worse than usual snow fall expected in Yerushalayim.

Israel has always been run on miracles both hidden and open orchestrated direct from nonother than the Master of the universe and creator of the world. If we deserve the land as Torah abiding Jews then He will keep us in its midst by continuing His wonderful miracles!
On the other side of the coin however even a small snowfall He can show us and prove it can be disastrous and catastrophically life threatening. We just need to open up our eyes!
