Boehner, in a statement Wednesday, also is rebuffing President Barack Obama’s call for Congress to delay new penalties against Iran over its nuclear program.
Boehner says Netanyahu is quite capable of addressing that issue.
The invitation for Netanyahu to speak to lawmakers on Feb. 11 comes hours after Obama, in his State of the Union address, said he would veto any sanctions legislation.
Boehner was informing the GOP caucus of his invitation in a private meeting. He says Obama expects Congress to stand idly by and do nothing while the administration negotiates with Tehran.
Boehner’s response: “Hell, no.”
Bibi will accept this invitation.
Mi k’Amcha USA!
If anyone doubted we must vote only Republicans into office…! Unlike our vile anti -Israel, pro-muslim president who couldn’t even bring himself to use the term “islamic terror.” For shame.
Nice gesture from Congressman Boehner but if the Israeli PM accepts the invite, that would pit Netanyahu against Obama, and that’s not a smart move, since the president is against congress adding further sanctions on Iran, currently.
Like him or not, Obama is the leader of the free world and antagonizing him isn’t too smart or good!
The US was ready and set to veto the resolution in the UN General Assembly recognizing a Palestine state, last month.
The American government, including Obama are behind Israel when it counts, we need to appreciate that and not minimize that, especially when you look around the globe and realize very few countries, if any, can and will emulate that.
