    A massive sinkhole has opened up in the area of 5th Ave. and 64th St. in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. (FDNY)Brooklyn, NY – The FDNY says no injuries are reported after a sinkhole devoured part of a Brooklyn street.

    The incident occurred around 7 a.m. Tuesday at Fifth Avenue and 64th Street in Sunset Park.

    Photos show a crater that sprawls across two lanes and stretches into an intersection.

    WABC ( http://tinyurl.com/pu3tjmy ) says National Grid is on the scene because gas lines are affected.

    The city is literally falling apart but its lefty mayor is busy putting wi-fi into public housing!

    The utilities, services and infrastructure in NYC is on average over 100 years old. Its time for a complete overhaul and replacement. There are buildings collapsing due to gas explosions; manhole covers blown off due to steam leaks; main line sewer / water leaks resulting in ground collapse etc – all becoming more common. A total lack of replacement & maintenance regime has made this city like a third world country. Just look at the decrepit subway tunnels/platforms. Just look at the abominable state of the roads / bridges.
    These are the issues the Mayor (& President?) should be addressing – which would also be a huge boost to the economy & show that NYC is in the 21st century.
