The Daily News reports (http://nydn.us/1E5TPfy ) that the Academic Integrity Task Force will collect data on all city schools to monitor for suspicious patterns in tests scores, graduation rates or credit accumulation.

If a school is identified as not following procedures it will immediately develop a corrective action plan that will be overseen by the superintendent.

Officials say the task force’s formation comes amid an increase in complaints about teachers helping students cheat or inflating test scores.

The Education Department has hired auditing firm Ernst & Young to review the task force’s work.

The initiative is expected to cost about $5 million.
