A number of members of the mostly Jewish Woodmont Country Club in Maryland are demanding that Obama be rejected from joining, according to The Post, citing his decision not to veto an anti-settlement resolution in the UN Security Council late last year.

On December 23, UNSC resolution 2334 was adopted after the US abstained from vetoing the decision, which condemned settlement construction in east Jerusalem and the West Bank, outraging officials in Jerusalem. As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the US has the power to reject any motion approved in the 15-member international body.

“In light of the votes at the UN and… everything else, there’s this major uproar with having him part of the club, and a significant portion of the club has opposed offering him membership,” a source told The Post.

The Maryland golf club, which Obama would join only after he becomes a private citizen on January 20, has a $80,000 initiation fee with additional annual dues totaling nearly $10,000.

“Originally, this was supposed to be a back-door thing to get this done and give him the membership — free of charge — and circumvent the rules,” said a source.

“But now, with the UN thing, they are not in position or likely to do it,” he added, saying that angry members are threatening litigation and lawsuits against the club if it waives its bylaws for the outgoing president.

Woodmont Country Club CEO and general manager, Brian Pizzimenti, has stated previously that he would be “honored” to have the president as a member.

The White House did not respond for comment from the New York daily.

    Obama will not be missed.

Having said, all you flaming nationalistic Zionist who are in love with the Torah forbidden state of Israel and its Chutzpaniak Mechlal Shabbos PM Netanyahu we Torah observant Jews say: Go move to Israel and to the dangerous settlements and let Jews in America live in peace. Don’t shove your stinky politics down our throats. We are not dual citizens.

We love Eretz Yisroel and we dislike Israel.

Amazing that people spend $80,000 for a place to play golf!

Woodmont is far from the most expensive club in the D.C. area….The Trump course over in Virginia is more expensive. Woodmont is viewed as a more liberal club with its high percentage of Yidden (going back to the days when Chevy Chase, Columbia and Kenwood didn’t allow Jewish members). Most of the Virginia clubs (Army/Navy, etc) are highly Republican and conservative. Woodmont is also somewhat easier for security reasons to block out time given that it has 2 separate 18 hole courses. The stupidity here is imposing a political litmus test by a club formed around the discrimination against yidden by other clubs. I’m not sure the shortcut membership procedure made sense other than the timing issue since the money is not a concern to the Obamas. The Club is also very close to the big yeshiva in Rockville.

On one hand, it would simply be disruptive to have the President as a member. Still, it would be a great honor. As for the President’s politics, that ought not to enter into it.

Although I don’t like the idea of Obama joining that country club, I think that the idea of keeping him out, from a public relations viewpoint, would be a disaster. A few years ago, there was a swimming pool in an upscale community in NJ, not that far from Philadelphia. The pool was used mostly by Jews. However, when Black campers, whose camp had previously paid to use the pool for the campers (under 12 years of age), the users of the pool went ballistic, and asked them to leave. The case appeared on the national news, and the pool owners were sued, forcing them to close. I know that the golf country club is private. However, the same negative publicity would result, and it would cause Yidden more problems than we need.
