The proposed statement, obtained by The Associated Press, would call on Abbas “to refrain from anti-Semitic comments.”

The U.S. circulated the statement Friday and set late afternoon for the 14 other council members to object. If there are no objections, the statement will be issued by the council.

The draft expresses the Security Council’s “firm and unequivocal rejection of anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial.”

It also recalls “that anti-Semitism has historically contributed to threats to international peace and security, mass atrocities, and widespread violations of human rights.”

Abbas issued an apology Friday over Monday’s speech, which was condemned as anti-Semitic

As much as I agree with the statement to be made, I find this a ridiculous use of Security Council time. They are traditionally supposed to be busy denouncing and condemning Israel, and accepting every single grunt and bark of Abbas and other Muslims as gospel truth. So Abbas burped. He is a pathological liar anyway, and a stupid one at that, expecting his “apology” to be accepted as if there was a trace of sincerity to it. He is nothing more than a rabid animal, and it is almost a guarantee that moments after his so-called apology, he spoke to his people in Arabic inciting them to incite and carry out as many murders of Jews as possible. His statements do not need to be debunked. He needs to be banned from the US, even to attend UN functions. US has every right to ban people of hate from entering our airspace.
