Firefighters arrived on the scene of a house fire early Thursday in Hamilton Township. But they found the car parked in front of the hydrant.
A picture posted on the Hamilton Township Professional Firefighters’ Facebook page shows they punched out the windows and threaded the hose through the car.
They had the fire under control quickly and no one was injured.

This should teach everyone a valuable lesson. Next time you feel a need to park at the hydrant, roll down your windows.
When insurance asks how it broke, owner answers: runny nose, er runny hose
Kudos to the Hamilton FD.
I have seen clips of FF’s doing this many times and in many cities .While it is against the law to block a hydrant ,understandably , If the FF’s had enough time to break the windows of the car ,& weave the hose through , it would seem that the fire was not that great .For if it was ,why don’t they place the hose around the car , and issue a summons ??? We call that “Medas Sidom “.
Good! I hope the hose leaked into the car.
The way it looks, they could of gone over the car with the hose. – They had enough room to bent it to the window, the same for over the top .
I guess they wanted to teach this guy a lesson.
Imagine if he got some lawyer to sue the FD
Serves this idiot right. Perhaps because s/he drives an Acura s/he might believe that various regulations dealing with public health and safety don’t apply to him/her!
I sure hope that a summons was issued as well.
“Place hose around the car”
“Go over the car”
Bright comments like those underscores the fact that not everyone has the intelligence required to be a firefighter.
Because those options are quicker, right? And who says the firefighters are going to need those extra few feet squandered because of the lout that blocked the hydrant, right?
I am not sure how many of us are trained as firefighters. Maybe there is something we do not know!
Maybe hoses need to be straighter or straighten under pressure?
If the car was there whatever happens is the driver’s fault. next time he/she will not block the hydrant.
By the way, we live near a frum Kidergarden. It is mindboggling how many frum mothers pull into a private driveway that is clearly not theirs and not the schools. When asked why they parked in someones private property many respond that they didn’t know. Any moron knows that a private driveway is not public, they didn’t know they would be caught. Feh.
How many frum Yidden block fire hydrants, block driveways, illegally double park, illegally back up an extended distance on a street, drive through stop signs, drive recklessly, pass over a double yellow line, honk their horns excessively and drive through red traffic lights, etc. Drive in Borough Park and Flatbush, and you’ll see what I’m referring to.
Fire hydrants are a money Maker for local municipalities.
Its about time they legalize parking at fire hydrants. I
