Among the 1,000 prisoners released are sex offenders and domestic violence offenders.

The decision was made following a court ruling by the High Court of Justice that stated that “a minimum proper living space should be allowed” for prisoners.

It was as a result of a change in the Early Release Law, which was prompted by a High Court of Justice ruling last year that established there was overcrowding in prisons and that a minimum living space should be allocated to each prisoner.

This led to the forced release of 957 prisoners before the end of their sentence, 238 of them domestic violence offenders and 42 sex offenders.

The average number of days reduced for all prisoners is 41 days.

“It’s good to be released early,” one of the prisoners said. “They surprised us. We will not go back here.”

Another added that “it would have been better if they had released me into a certain framework, because I am still in a state of risk, I will try very hard not to return to prison.”

A social worker at a domestic violence and abuse shelter said that the women feel “a bitter disappointment” in the state’s conduct.

“The men who attacked them received less than one year’s imprisonment for very difficult things and now they are shortened to a few months, about a third of the punishment,” she said. “The feelings go beyond anxiety, and there is both of anger and bitterness. The women were badly hurt and and this punishment is not serious enough.”

She added that it is very difficult for a woman to file a complaint with the police.

“She is very anxious before, during and after the discussion. It is very difficult for her to speak, but she succeeded and he received eight months and in the end, two months were just deducted from the sentence,” she explained, making it clear that early release also impairs the ability to rehabilitate the men themselves.

“Prisoners who have been in jail for six months cannot undergo a process of rehabilitation and treatment in such short period of time,” she said.

Those deviants should never be allowed to receive a visa to enter the USA; in the past, I don’t think screening was that good. Our state department handed out visas left and right. I remember an Israeli telling me years ago, that it was his understanding that Israeli criminals were being allowed to enter the USA, to live here. We have enough internal problems, without having to import additional ones.
