Manhattan, NY – FDNY Hosts Annual Blessing Of Marine Fleets

Manhattan, NY – New York – The New York City Fire Department held today its traditional blessing of the marine fleet in Lower Manhattan at South Street Seaport.

This annual maritime tradition is meant to ensure safe travels, and includes a procession of fireboats along the East River led by Fireboat Three Forty Three of Marine Company 1 – FDNY’s largest fireboat, followed by a colored water display.

The FDNY Marine operation encompasses 28 vessels which are stationed throughout the five boroughs.
