Arthur Waskow, a longtime political activist, and Rabbi Phyllis Berman were among four senior citizens arrested Wednesday by federal agents during the protest organized by a group calling itself ElderWitness and Friends. The couple also were fined.
Last summer, Waskow was detained at the same location during a similar demonstration.
Waskow told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he he saw his arrest as “connected with a major wave of Jewish protests, including arrests, that swept across the country on or about Tisha b’Av in August,” adding that he believed it was “the first such event in American Jewish history, when a large segment of the Jewish community publicly and vigorously opposed a major policy priority of the U.S. government.”
This summer saw a wave of Jewish protests across the United States against U.S. immigration policy.

86 years old and about as smart as the day he was born
Not rabbis
He’s about as much a rabbi as his rabbi wife … poor misguided soul… let him sit down and prepare for his farher coming up when his activism ends
meh…..
slow day in news-land: story about saving a kitten from a sewer and now this joke….
Rabbi Phyllis??? Yenem rabbi.
Please stop calling them Rabbis, They are as much a Rabbi as my 3 year old grandson is a astronaut.
These so called Rabbis might not even be Jews.
Disloyal to Judaism and to America!
These are people calling themselves rabbis. Readers of VIN don’t recognize them as rabbis.
Leftist Jews have nothing to do with Torah. They’re low life like Hashomer.
Would be better if it said rabbi and her husband
As soon as I saw 86 years old, I thought “Arthur?”
But “Rabbi” is stretching it.
