MANHATTAN (VosIzNeias) – A NYC Police officer was busted for allegedly stealing property from people he’s arrested.

Officer Joseph Stokes who is assigned to Lower East Side’s 7th Precinct was questioned for the alleged misconduct when he showed up to work at the precinct Tuesday afternoon, the NY Daily News is reporting.

According to the report, Stokes was arrested after a sting operation caught him grabbing cash from an undercover officer posing as a drunk driver. He’s expected to be charged with grand larceny.

The NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau had rigged the car with cameras before Stokes made the stop.

The TSA has also been known to perform such deeds, as stealing cash and other valuables, of air passengers.
