a real kiddush hashem, the Israeli President sees that Charedi Women do work and have a good education and make it to become a Judge in the US.

I hope she helped Rivlin with advice on forming a new government in Israel…

She is a role model for what a Chareidi can be – literate, well-spoken, educated in limudei Kodesh AND limudei Chol – and b’davka still be a frum wife, mother and grandmother. She is a living example and proof that women, if they wish, can achieve success outside of their homes. Observant women indeed can do things other than making babies and kugels.

Nebech, how low have we sunk. We seem to only assess a frum women’s accomplishments as a success if she makes a mark in the public or business arena. Is a stay at home mother raising our next generation to be deemed less successful?

The headline misled me. I wondered why there had never before been an Hasidic judge in Brooklyn. The story makes it quite clear she is the first female Hasidic judge from Brooklyn.

    Sad times!
So sad to see that a frum Jewish woman that hashem has given her the brains and the strength to become a lawyer and and a judge and be successful. Is meeting with a “rushe” what is mechalel shabes for her personality fame ! And take along her frum kids and take pictures with an “oicher yisroel” !
We must remember that the ONLY hetter to meet with these people is for “zurach tzibur”!! See chazon isch for full details

Another way of saying look beyond just her sheitel hair-covering for this meeting set-up is: Don’t book a judge by her cover.

Couldn’t agree more with Liam. I will take it a step further and say that I highly doubt that this is not affecting her family. You wouldn’t expect them to admit it in public. Hashen created man and woman with their natural roles in place. Changing them will never succeed..

Judge Freier is not only a role model for religious women, she is a role model for all of the Charredi world men & women alike. There is no limit to what we can accomplish. Not every Charedi woman has to sit home. They are bright intelligent and resourceful. And very capable at multi-tasking. She exemplifies that Klal Yisroel is Or HaOlam. Your Honor, please continue to be a trailblazer. May Hashem continue to give you guidance. You make each and every Torah committed Yid Proud!

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife’s car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

    .
Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door.

As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap, and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.

She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked:

    “What happened here today?’”

She again smiled and answered, “You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?”

    “Yes,” was his incredulous reply.

She answered, ‘”Well, today I didn’t do it.”

Hon Ruchy Freier isnt only a judge. Shes a tzadeikis in doing exceptional chesed to the needy. I know of a family that she personally gets called “mommy”. Shes an admirable person. Leave all nasty comments to urself.
Hava feeling even Rivlin has no respect for a chareidi woman. Hes not a person she shld affiliate with. Shes way better thann him.

Yes indeed The woman‘s place is in the home and that is her natural place you can do and say anything you want and the feminists can be proud of her achievements , but that will still not change the facts that the man is the breadwinner and the woman’s place is at home raising her family, for a woman to go to college and into the political or professional world , there will always and a stress always have repercussions on the family

It is a wonderful zchus for that Rivlin fellow to meet an ehrliche Yiddishe lady, who was zoiche to bring up six frumme children who do mitzvos, daven and learn Torah. He should many more such people, men and women, chassidic and misnagdic. It will have a wonderful hashpa’ah on him.
If she happens to be a judge on the side, who cares? That is the least important part of her life.

Does she take of her husbands needs in the kitchen and bedroom? Everything else doesn’t matter. We’ve been down this road before.
