According to police, 2 men entered the Khal Chassidim Synagogue in the 6000 block of Park Heights Avenue, at around 7 PM on Friday night.
After gaining entry, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and pointed it at a man inside the synagogue. He then tried to rob him.
The victim struggled with the suspects, but thankfully was not injured.
The 2 suspects left the synagogue after the unsuccessful robbery.
Police say they are investigated two other robberies that occurred on the same night. The first took place in the 5900 block of Clover Road, and the second occurred in the 5900 block of Park Heights Avenue.
Police believe the suspects in those robberies are the same.
The police will be stepping up their community patrols as they investigate the robberies.
Welcome to Baltimore!
When are these Shuls going to wake up, and have armed security, especially on Shabbos and Yom Tov? These savages don’t realize that Jews don’t carry money on Shabbos. Years ago, in a Shul in my community, one of these upstanding citizens came into a local Shul on Shabbos, and was panhandling. When the Congregants told him that they don’t carry money on Shabbos, he stated “I never heard of that before”. He had the chutzpah to come back during the week, to again panhandle.
?Who tries to rob a synagogue on a Friday night when no one carries money?
The writer forgot the last line, i.e., Police will be eating donuts at… Police are NOT how people should defend themselves against attacks by the sub-vermin that commit violent crimes. I’ve never a seen a verse that tells us that if someone arises to murder a person, which an armed robber is showing intent to do, that we are to call police. It says we’re to arise and kill it. It’s also called common sense. What should the man have done, you people who are against citizens being armed, tell the robber to hold on a moment while he calls the police?
