JERUSALEM (AP) — The final results from Israel’s election have confirmed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has again fallen short of a parliamentary majority with his hard-line allies.

The results, released late Thursday, signal further political deadlock. Monday’s election was the country’s third in less than a year. Previous elections in April and September also ended in deadlock.

Switch the rules and make a direct vote for PM by the people. Only the two biggest parties get to put up a candidate. That’s Bibi & Ganz. Whoever gets the most votes is PM and finished.
Yet oddly, just this week all the headlines were about Bibi’s great victory. Since Israel has plenty of smart people who can govern, it would be better for Bibi to drop out. Someone else could more easily build a government and policies.
