This prediction turned into reality on Monday.
NJ Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Twitter that all schools across New Jersey must close on Wednesday. This includes both public and private schools.
The governor said the schools would remain closed “until such time as deemed by health officials to be safe for classes to resume.”
To slow the spread of #COVID19, I'm ordering:
•Closure of ALL pre-K, K-12 schools, higher ed insts. beginning 3/18
•Closure of ALL casinos, racetracks, theaters, gyms
•Closure of ALL non-essential retail, recreational, & entertainment bizs after 8pm
•Banning gatherings of 50+ pic.twitter.com/mmZe0bZWgb— Governor Phil Murphy (@GovMurphy) March 16, 2020
The announcement by the Governor followed an earlier announcement of a state-wide mandatory curfew. The Governor asked all New Jersey residents to remain inside their homes between the hours of 8 PM and 5 AM.
The only businesses permitted to remain open past 8 PM would be essential businesses which are necessary for the public’s health, safety, and welfare, such as supermarkets and grocery stores, pharmacies, medical offices, and gas stations.
In addition, Gov. Phil Murphy of NJ, Gov. Andrew Cuomo of NY, and Gov. Ned Lamont of Connecticut have jointly announced a ban on 50 people or more in all 3 aforementioned states.
Essential businesses which are necessary for the public’s health, safety, and welfare – like supermarkets and grocery stores, pharmacies, medical offices, and gas stations – may remain open past 8:00 PM.

Finally, the Governor stressed that these extreme steps are not being taken lightly, but rather are being taken in order to prevent an overload to the health care system.
We do not take any of the steps we’ve announced today lightly. We know that these will impact residents and families, communities, and businesses. But our paramount concern is to #FlattenTheCurve – these steps will ensure we do not overload our health care system.

Why should anyone listen to this baby killer? This evil man wants to impose marshal law and completely control every aspect of your sorry lives. He will strip all your guns next. Don’t you idiots see what’s happening to you?! You cowards are going down without even a fight? If he would tell you to be contrite and enter cattle cars, you New Jersey citizens would be fighting who can be first. You are a sick bunch.
