NEW YORK (AP) – NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo at a briefing denounced NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and the New York City police as ineffective in the face of the nightly looting. The governor said he offered help from the National Guard, an option de Blasio opposes.

“The NYPD and the mayor did not do their job last night, I believe that,” Cuomo said at his briefing in Albany. “You have 38,000 NYPD people. It is the largest police department in the United States of America. Use 38,000 people and protect property.”
Cuomo and de Blasio are frequently at odds, but the governor was especially forceful in accusing his fellow Democrat of underestimating the problem. Unprompted, Cuomo brought up the possibility of using his power as governor to replace the mayor, then immediately shot down the idea as legally impractical and unnecessary.

Cuomo will be remembered as the slimiest sleazeball politician.He could of stopped this whole mayhem in an instant.
He should be removed from office.
He blames everyone for his miserable leadership.
By his negative comment to Trumps speech yesterday he ignited the tug animals. Cuomo is an instigator in a political way he knows exactly what will happen and this is what he wants.

The NYPD is not ineffective. They are prevented from doing their jobs by a hard-left radical mayor. The NYPD was plenty effective when Giuluani was mayor.
Cuomo could have deployed troops from the NY Army National Guard, as well as Air Police, from the NY Air National Guard. He is commander of both forces, and he doesn’t need DeBlasio’s permission to do so. Also, he could have sent New York State troopers into Manhattan to protect life and property. In January, he sent in state troopers to Crown Heights. He didn’t ask DeBlasio’s permission then, and he certainly doesn’t need it now. He should put his money where his mouth is.
De-Blassio has experience in this area. Look at the crown hieghts riots in 1991. His record was clear about his incompetency. this is just dejavu.
Tell them to quit kicking innocent kids out of a park in willamsburg, stop patrolling 13th ave and go after the real criminals. A disgrace
Agree that De Blasio is ineffective. That doesn’t explain the destruction in Rochester, NY. Cuomo has plenty of things to attend to. If he wants to help NYC, great, but his comments, just like Trump’s, are pointless.
Our city and state leaders are not protecting us but are siding with criminals.
Time too distribute clubs and iron bars to store owners and home owners.
We ought to do the same. Enough debate.
Andrew Cuomo is a racist. The only reason why he is publicly criticizing Mayor DeBlasio is because he is married to an African-American woman and has children of color! This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest as Cuomo, being a white of Italian heritage, has a long history of hating and persecuting blacks! Cuomo should be forced to resign or face impeachment. I thought we’ve gotten past such racism!
If you want to know what the real problem in this city is, just listen to the first 2- 3 minutes of the mayors news conference this morning. (I’m paraphrasing) First he speaks about how he grew up in this city in the 60 -70’s. Then in the 80’s people said the city was dying. There was one year of 2000 murders. In the 90’s we were able to turn things around and we will do the same now. IDIOT MAYOR who turned the city around? It was the law and order Mayor Guiliani. which was followed by Bloomberg who at least at the beginning was sane. Under your watch Mr. Mayor the city has been sold out to leftist radicals. You and other liberal politicians are destroying America. Of course its Trump’s fault.
