LONDON (VINnews) – A man has been charged following a stabbing of a Hasidic man on Friday.

Stanley Francis, 44, of Coronation Avenue, has been charged with attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 15.

As reported by VIN News, Rabbi Alter Yaacov Schlesinger, who is in his 50s, was taken to a major trauma centre after the attack in Stoke Newington on Friday morning.

Schlesinger who is Rabbi at the Satmar Yeshiva in Stamford Hill, was listed in stable condition with non life threatening injuries.

His attacker was restrained by members of the public until police arrived.
