NEW YORK (VINnews) – All New York City public schools located in the nine ZIP codes that have been deemed hot spots for rising COVID-19 cases will be closed, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday.

Cuomo says he’ll meet with leaders of Orthodox Jewish community tomorrow. If there is no agreement to follow Covid rules, he’ll shut down their synagogue, but said. Schools in hot spot zip codes will close tomorrow.
Appearing upset, Cuomo, showed photos of Orthodox Jewish gatherings held recently, and said “this has been going on for weeks” and such gatherings can be super spreader events.
Cuomo, Said non-essential businesses Won’t be closed because they aren’t the source of “mass spreaders.”
Where was the Governor and Mayor when the Zip Codes that are home to a lot of Orthodox Jews did not have a 3% positive rate of COVID and the rest of the State did have, then nobody bothered to open up schools and stores by going accordingly to each zip code. Are we treated by Double Standards??

There have been lawsuits in other states challenging the emergency powers which were successful. That creates a precedent. Let him try and shut us down, arrest us, fine us, etc. Then we sue him and end this insanity.
Why is the Governor and Mayor applying double standards to the Orthodox Jewish Community,
When these areas where from the first Zip Codes to lower rhe positive % rate the Governor and Mayor did not open up those areas before other Zip Codes but went by Regions and now when they are closing schools they are interestingly changing the formula of closing by Zip Codes. Is this not double standards??

There’s enough blame to go around here and the Shuls & stores in certain neighborhoods need to do a better job of enforcing wearing of masks. However, the city & state have NOT worked with the community and the endless ever-changing regulations are confusing and there’s also No consistency. As for Cuomo Y”S & De-Bozo Y”S, the double-standard & hypocrisy is disgusting and tactics are straight out of 1930’s Germany. These bumbling idiots focus on our communities, in this case zip-codes because as throughout history, we’re easy targets. I’m willing to bet that the positivity rate in other zip-codes or “low-income” neighborhood’s are higher than the ones mentioned. Yet, Cuomo & DeBozo wouldn’t dare say a word. When the tracing program came out, they were ordered “Not to ask people if they attended the riots…errr… “peaceful-protests” sorry after that, all their credibility is lost. Also, though not entirely, this is partially the result of “Frum-Yidden” & leftwing leaning Jews in general putting their faith & trading votes in return for funding & social-programs as promised by scumbag politicians who would literally sell their own parents down the river for power & bribe money. When was the last time our communities & Rabbonim endorsed a candidate who represented our religion & values, regardless of party affiliation ???
Now our Community is left to fend for itself because even our own leaders with minimal exceptions, refuse to lead us & speak out against this travesty. The Yeshiva’s are still too busy railing against the internet to take notice instead of ensuring our children are well rounded & educated and know what’s going in the world. Its time to leave this dump and go somewhere else. NYS & NYC has slapped us in the face & repeatedly kicked us when we’re down. H”BH is certainly trying to send us a message. When are we going to finally stand up for ourselves & our communities already instead of complaining about it. It’s time to leave NYC & NYS. If Frum people actually pack out, maybe the criminals released from jail, homeless & EDP’s will pay taxes & help fix the economy. Enough is Enough already!!!

Most yeshivas to borrow a term from our President ( may he have a speedy recovery ) were doing fake precautions they didn’t take it seriously they are partially to blame for some of the parents getting sick this is a avera sdosh bei rabim, Rabosi use your seichal don’t follow others when you know it is wrong even if others happen to run yeshivas

This way I don’t have to worry about my son bringing the covid -19 into our house. please mandate that all yeshivas must provide an online option to those parents who wish to protect themselves and their children from the virus. keep up the good work.
