Wieder, who expressed support for Cuomo’s leadership just two days ago as reported by The Journal News (https://bit.ly/36L8YLx), wasted no time in slamming Governor Andrew Cuomo for his harsh actions limiting houses of worship to ten people in hard hit areas. Wieder called Cuomo’s assurances that his actions were done in collaboration with community leaders “an utter lie” but noted that face coverings have nothing to do with elected officials.

“Dear friends, are we wearing a mask because Governor Cuomo tells us to or because Mayor Bill de Blasio wants us to?” queried Wieder. “No, we wear a mask because it is the right thing and what G-d wants us to do.”

The currently realities have members of the Jewish community seriously ill, with some in hospitals and on respirators, explained Wieder who just lost a young, healthy friend to the pandemic. Quoting the Torah commandment to safeguard human life at all costs Wieder added, “it is G-d’s will that we wear a mask.”

Wieder’s District 13 encompasses portions of Spring Valley, which has held the dubious distinction of being the second hardest hit area code in the state for the past four days. According to official state data, Spring Valley had a 10.1 percent positive COVID testing rate on Tuesday, with Kiryas Joel topping the state list of coronavirus cases and Monsey trailing just behind Spring Valley in third place.

While many have complained about the difficulties of wearing a mask, Wieder said that he has grown accustomed to keeping his face covered.

“I have been wearing a mask all through the summer and have not found it to be difficult,” Wieder told VIN News. “After two weeks you get used to it and don’t feel that you have it on.”

It is need to emphasize that you MUST wear a mask inside! I was in numerous shuls in Boro Park over Succoth & practically no one wearing a mask inside & for example Bobov was packed like sardines & couldn’t find one person wearing a mask! They come inside & they take off their mask! And when they leave Bobov there is a sign -you must put your mask on before leaving the building! So almost no mask wearing in packed shuls – only one is Stolin – they got it right. The Stoliner Rebbe said you have to wear a mask inside shul. So very important Rabbanoim need to empasize MUST wear the mask inside – which is were the virus spreads most.

What he’s saying about a mask is so true! Naturally everything that’s hard to do, only gets done by enforcement such as red light tickets etc. Therefore I plead with coumo to continue with more and more enforcements and lockdowns until our loved ones stop dying! It’s much more dangerous then red lights!!!

So according to trump this Weider is an antasemit too? Anyone who is against trump and for SCIENCE is suddenly an antasemit and acts like its the Churban against Yidden? Wow, talk about trivializing the Churban- he really is desperate. (Just look at any national poll).

A big “thank you” to our “leaders” and “askanim” kneeling before their masters. God gives fresh air for humankind and that’s what I’ll breath. Masks don’t work, period. And those who “really care” about the “effects of not wearing masks” should try to rectify the general American public firrst. Jews are only .2 of the American population and religious Jews are only 10% of the .2 percent. So first deal with the millions of non-Jews wjho do not wear masks. I see them all the time in the media and in real life.
