Police detained a man in his 20’s and he was taken to the local police station for investigation. The suspect will be remanded in the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court.
Eyewitnesses said that the suspect came towards the Rosh Yeshiva in a threatening manner, shouting criticisms regarding the vaccination and the matter of drafting yeshiva students. Rabbi Edelstein (98), who only recently returned to give shiur in Ponovezh after receiving both vaccinations, is an outspoken supporter of the vaccinations, deeming it an obligation for people to vaccinate in accordance with the recommendations of doctors. He also supports establishing a law regarding the issue of drafts for yeshiva students, a view hotly opposed by extremist elements who do not want any cooperation with the government over the issue.
Two weeks ago a mentally unbalanced person came to the house of Rabbi Chaim Kanievski and asked to speak with him, declaring at the same time that he had a knife. Police were summoned and the suspect was detained and brought to the Bnei Brak police station for interrogation.

We can all agree that often times it doesn’t come down to only medical knowledge, but rather to a value question, like what kind of risk is ok take, or weather other considerations should outweigh the risk. In such a scenario, the medical man is in fact unqualified, and the spiritual guide supremely so.
Well as long as rabbonim will be giving advice on medical issues they have no clue about, the society is going to get crazier and crazier.
