NEW YORK (VINnews) — While the world looks on in horror as rescue workers continue to try and save some of the more than 150 people trapped under the rubble of the South Champlain Tower in Miami, some stories of miraculous survival are already being told.

Sarah Nir, a Chabad mother of 6, returned from a Hisvaadus [Chabad spiritual meeting] at 12:30 A.M and heard strange noises in the building. She thought that somebody was doing renovations but couldn’t understand why they were doing them at such an hour. Nir woke her 15-year-old and 25-year-old children who were with her (her husband and other children were out of town) and went to the building’s guard on the ground floor to complain about the noise, which was getting louder. Suddenly she saw the car park filling with debris and told her children to run outside since there was “an earthquake.”

The 15-year-old girl complained that she was in pajamas but her mother cried hysterically that she should run out quickly. The girl took two towels and wrapped herself and the three ran out and saw the building crumbling in front of their eyes.

Sarah, still convinced that it was an earthquake, continued running around the streets with no way of contacting others, since her phone was in the collapsed building. A person stopped her and offered help, stating that he was Jewish and had served in the IDF. He took her to a local hotel and found her a room, which was later paid for by the Red Cross.

Sarah told “B’Chadrei Chareidim” that “Hashem gave me signs, I came back late from the Hisvaadus, so I wasn’t asleep, Hashem gave me signs to run away and I did so.”

Gavriel Nir, Sarah’s son, told Israel’s Channel 13 that the collapse occurred in three stages and took a few minutes. First, he and his family heard noise from above and saw dust falling. They then heard a boom that they thought was an earthquake and rushed out of the building. Finally, from outside, they saw the collapse, with white clouds of dust following them as they ran.

“If it wasn’t for my mom, it would have been very bad… she figured out something was not right,” Nir says.

Bottom line is, yes every single thing happens cuz Gd willed it so and GD is all good. Sometimes the good is revealed, and we are thankful and appreciate it, sometimes the good is not revealed and it’s much tougher to accept etc.
We are so thankful this family was saved, and it hurts so much that the others weren’t.
None negates the other.
Those with ‘critical thinking skills’ who are attempting to deny this true story, your skills are laughable.
It just takes a bit of thinking to figure out how this story is true, even if not every single detail is spelled out, use your thinking and imagination to fill in the blanks.
Side note, those who are immersed in Torah and Gemara learning have the more sharpened thinking skills- that’s a fact.

If this story still bothers you maybe just take out the word ‘chabad woman’ and replace it with a woman from your community.
Does that make you feel better?

Emunah is beyond critical, rational thinking. We are maaminim B’nai maaminim. We don’t know why Hashem does what He does but we know a miracle when we see it!

I understand it was a split second so no judgements but I wish that fire alarm would have been pulled as she ran.

I was wondering when the nariskieten (silliness) of nissem (miracles) will start. Didn’t take too long!!
Think Critical – which none of us got from Yeshivas or Bais Yakkov’s and you can spot the frauds right away
Lets read it again together slowly – I heard noise from the roof, Okay, normal people will call downstairs to the guy on duty in the building front desk he should take care of it. No, I go down to visit him personally and my 15 year old Chabadnik daughter goes also downstairs in her….. PAJAMAS!! Do they not posses clothing to go outside or maybe just a bathrobe?? No – in the pajamas. Next, they claim by now they see real danger and the frum daughter does not want to run outside the building in pajamas. So she stops to get 2 towels. funny where exactly did she got the towels from?
Can’t wait till these stories make it into Rabbi Khrons true story telling seminars, or some Rebbes true mofsim by shalish sedahas, and then end up in the best seller Hasgacha Protios # 14.
I also – have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell all our frummers. Question – Is it so hard to think for ourselves?

Chasdei Hashem? Seriously? This lucky woman escaped with her life and kids B”H… but how can you say this was hasgacha pratis when over 100 are likely dead? They were not worthy like she was to be saved? This is just the kind of horrible thinking that drives people away from Halacha. Please.. can we just accept that we do NOT understand Hashem’s ways. Maybe he decided that this was too quick and painless to let her die in her sleep under the building. Maybe he has something much worse planned for her. Is this not just as logical? Stop thinking for Hashem. He can do it all by himself. Fartik!
