JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Since 1967 the Palestinian narrative has sought to deny any Jewish connection to Temple Mount or Al-Haram A-Sharif as it is known in Arabic. However a new item which is scheduled to go on auction at the Kedem auction house in Jerusalem brings proof otherwise – from the senior Palestinian authority in 1924, the Jerusalem Mufti.

Dr. Dotan Goren, a scholar of the land of Israel and holy sites, says that the 1924 tour guide was published in English by the higher Muslim council. The council, which was founded in 1921, was headed by none other than the infamous Jerusalem Mufti, Haj Amin El-Husseini, who later tried to curry favor with Hitler and persuade him to annihilate the Jews.

The council was appointed to supervise the Muslim holy places including Temple Mount and published the tour guide which included historic sketches about the main structures at the site including the Dome of the Rock and El-Aqsa, which according to the guide are “without doubt situated on the place where Solomon’s Temple stood.”

Dr. Goren adds that the guide mentions regulations regarding use of the site for secular purposes, stating that the entire Temple Mount is holy to Muslims and smoking or bringing dogs into the compound is prohibited. Visits to the mount used to take place between 7:30-11:30 via the Shalshelet gate which is situated to the North of the Western Wall.
