The building is located at 17350 NW 68th Avenue, or the Royalton on the Green Apartments.
Footage shows a portion of the roof overhang in pieces on the ground below the multiple-story apartment building. Police say structure engineers have been called in on a rush.
Police said that everyone have been evacuated in the building, and non of the residence will be able to go back until the engineers give the green light.
It’s unclear how and why the roof collapsed. There are no reports of injuries so far.
The Royalton is 12 miles from The Champlain Towers.

Florida seems to be a dangerous place to live in a multiple dwelling.
Probably also caused by climate change.
The engineers need to do their job. My uneducated guess is that this is not a roof collapse but more of a facade/trim, fence piece that failed. These pieces could kill of course.
Infrastructure bill. Infrastructure falling apart. Ironic.
More than than 20 years, the גדול הדור HoRav Avigdor Miller ZTKLLH’H would implore us so strongly not to go to Florida, but to remain in NYC.
With all these frightful building incidents in Florida, the גדול הדור was so correct to stay away from Florida.
