The IDF responded with artillery shells towards the source of the rocket fire. MDA reported that there were no injuries from the rockets but 4 people were treated for shock.

Kiryat Shmona mayor Avichai Stern told residents to stay in protected rooms but the IDF stressed that at present there are no special directives for communities near the Lebanese border. The IDF is investigating who is behind the firing but it is assumed that Palestinian elements in southern Lebanon are responsible and not Hezbollah.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Minister Benny Gantz were notified about the rocket attack and reviewed Israel’s response.

The tourism season in the north of Israel is at its peak in these weeks and it is possible that Lebanese anti-Israel elements are trying to harm tourist sites in the region.
