MONTREAL (VINnews) – Once again, the Satmar community has been rocked by the passing of another Torah giant, with the passing of Rabbi Moshe Menachem Tyrnauer, the Satmar dayan of Montreal.

Rabbi Tyrnauer served as the rosh yeshiva of Montreal’s Toras Moshe Satmar yeshiva and was a student of the late Rabbi Avraham Leitner, head of the Montevideo beis din.
His reputation as a tremendous Torah scholar extended far beyond Quebec’s borders and he was well known in Satmar communities worldwide, Rabbi Tyrnauer was one the most beloved students of Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum Zt’l.
Besides his greatness in Torah, he was an exceptional caring person, especially devoted to the many men marrying girls from Montreal that were are far from their families, making sure they settle nicely
He was a giant in Torah.
His Talmidim count in the tens of thousands. What a colossal אבידה for the Torah world in general and to his beloved Talmidim I particular.
Satmar has lost its third dayan and Moreh Derech. Rav CM Friedman Zatzal, Rav Chezkel Roth Zatzal and Rav MM Tyrnauer. All with a diffrent kneitch yet esteemed Talmidim of the holy Satnar Rav
