BNEI BRAK (VINnews) — On Friday morning, cemetery visitors were shocked to discover the matzeiva of Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman zt”l desecrated. Vandals placed black paint on the matzeiva, the day before the fourth yahrzeit of the late Gadol Hador, this Motzei Shabbos Erev Chanukah.

It is not clear who is responsible for this disgraceful act, however according to Israeli media, “extremists” were observed fleeing the scene.
Avraham Rubinstein, Mayor of Bnei Brak, responded to the news with shock. “With the entire house of Israel, we were horrified to discover the heinous act done in desecration of the holy tziun of Rashkabag Maran Baal Eilat Hashachar,” he said.
The mayor pledged to locate the perpetrators as quickly as possible and bring them to justice.
Religious Affairs Minister Matan Kahana said, “I share in the grief of all his loved ones, and hope that the criminal will be caught soon.”
Former PM Benjamin Netanyahu called it a “despicable act.”
Shas party leader Aryeh Deri said that he was “shocked to the depths of my soul by the criminal and inconceivable desecration.”
Deri called on authorities to capture the perpetrators quickly and punish them to the full extent of the law.
This is not the first time Rav Shteinman’s kever has been desecrated. According to Israeli media reports, the municipality plans to install cameras to prevent this from happening again.

What a disgraceful act. They may punished in civil court in this world, however unless they do teshuva and beg for forgiveness from theTzaddik & his family, the fate that awaits them will be unbelievable. Their lives in this world will be hell on earth from this point forward. But nothing compared to what awaits them in the next world.

Rav Stieneman was a real tzadik and did not make enemies….
If the perpetrators had a Bris Milah, then surely they are OTD individuals. When they are tried and incarcerated, I hope that they will be de-programmed as well.
