KIRYAT GAT (VINNews) — A worker at the daycare center where Adel Assulin a”h became strangled by her clothing is being investigated by police.

According to Israeli media, authorities are looking into whether the employee in charge of watching the group of children is guilty of negligence.

Although not all details are confirmed, it seems that Adel was playing with other children in the playground, when a cord from her sweatshirt became tangled around her neck, causing her to suffocate R”L. It may have occurred while she was coming down a slide. One report from Kan News suggests that the girl was struggling for fifteen minutes before anyone noticed.

Police questioned the daycare employee about why she did not notice the girl struggling. The woman reportedly told police, “I was in the yard of the gan and everything was fine. The children played, I was alert, I looked at the children all the time. I do not know how I did not notice that it happened.”

As soon as she realized what was happening, “I quickly called the principal to come and begin resuscitation. In the meantime, we called Magen David Adom.”

The employee has been placed under house arrest for five days. In addition, the Interior Ministry has closed down the daycare center temporarily.
