A bill has been proposed by the legislature that would enable the government to detain ordinary citizens who are deemed a public health threat. In other words, the government may soon be able to lock people up if they are exposed to a contagious disease.

The bill, which legislators may vote on in the coming weeks, would grant the governor and state officials the right to detain any potentially “significant threat to public health.”

According to the National Pulse, officials would have broad sweeping powers to decide whom to detain and for how long.

Detainees may be placed in a medical facility or “any other they deem appropriate.” The bill is intentionally ambiguous in defining “significant threat”, which means politicians can arbitrarily define it.

Essentially, if this passes, the government would have the right to lock people up, with minimal accountability to justify their decisions. (Sort of like a nightmare sci-fi thriller.)

And while the bill places a cap on detention at 60 days, the court can waive the maximum detention time. In addition, the court has 90 days after the initial 60 days to “consider” the detention.

Equally frightening, the bill would require the “potential health threat” to undergo treatment, including vaccination.

The bill does not specify which illnesses or diseases would qualify as a potential threat, which gives politicians immense leeway in determining whom to lock up.

The National Pulse observed that on the State Senate’s website, the bill has gotten an extremely negative response from voters.

Welcome to North Korea. We no longer live in America if such bills are being proposed. This is a very scary situation. They should throw out the people that proposed this bill from any governmental office

If more had resisted this government control policy that has been limiting our basic rights over the last almost 2 years, our representatives wouldn’t be discussing it.

Those who vaxxed don’t really have a right to complain. They gave the government even more power.

It’ll happen, I sure hope it does too.
Maybe the people will revolt as in 1775 and overthrow the demonic democrat fraudulent regime once and for all.

No mention that this bill was first introduced in 2015, has no co-sponsors and hasn’t left committee but it’s becoming law next week.

This is just a Bill and it has zero co sponsors, which makes it more like a brain fart that some legislators had.

Whoever doesn’t vote against this is risking their re-election. Beyond that, how a bill like this was even proposed must have been because of ‘bought’ politicians.

Anyone can propose a bill . Doesn’t even say who the sponsor is . And you’re all reacting to an article published in something called the National Pulse.

I contacted my NY State Senator Andrew S. Gournades, and he said that it was being withdrawn. Here is his exact stattement: “Just this week, the sponsor has announced that he is striking the enacting clause of the bill, which means that the bill will be withdrawn and not proceed through the legislative process. The updated bill with the stricken enacting clause may not be reflected accurately on the NYS Senate website until after we gavel in for the new Session in January, so please be patient.

I don’t know any of the details of the law but if the supreme court wouldn’t stop it, then I wouldn’t be concerned.

It does make sense. Texas, Georgia and other Republican States make laws to keep out Spanish, blacks etc from voting, like waiting to vote for 14 hours standing in black neighborhood’s and making a crime to give them water (plain good old fashioned water)
This NY Law would keep unvaccinated (mostly) Republican voters away from voting stations.
It wont matter much in the Presidential election (all electors go to the winner) it will keep the Reps out of all local elections even in Upstate NY.
