JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In a blistering attack on the current Israeli government’s attempt to pass a draft bill which would include Chareidim, MK Galit Distal-Atbarian (Likud) addressed the chareidim in the Knesset and said that the entire right-wing stands behind them and not out of a sense of charity but because they are “the elite forces (Sayeret Matkal) of Jewish identity in this state.”

Atbarian’s implication was that there is no need to target only chareidim for draft as opposed to other minorities and they are already providing a critical function in maintaining the Jewish identity of the state of Israel.

Atbarian also attacked the government which is “crushing” a “right-wing Zionist majority” and warned that the majority were “inches” away from igniting the masses against the government’s ‘tyranny.” She also criticized Alternative Prime Minister Lapid who “doesn’t even have a matriculation certificate and think’s the holiest Jew was Jesus.”
